Elvis Brandon, age 71, of Smith Mill Road, died Monday, October 6, 2003, at Lincoln Medical Center. Mr. Brandon was the son of the late Elvis Bud and Fannie Mae Dickerson Brandon. A native of Huntsville, Alabama, he came to live in Fayetteville when he was a teenager. He was employed in Hedden Tractor Company and formerly worked with Liberty National Life Insurance Company and Rambo Motor Company. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and was a member of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church YY's. Mr. Brandon is survived by his son, Todd Brandon and his wife, Jan, of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Justin Plunkett and Jarrett Brandon, both of Fayetteville; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Peay Brandon; two brothers, James Brandon and Marine Private First Class Morgan Brandon; two sisters, Addie Belle Poore and Maggie Thompson. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at Higgins Funeral Home at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Cleo Moon and Van Johnson officiating. Burial followed in Riverview Cemetery beside his wife, Betty Jo Peay Brandon, who died in 1978.
