The Daily Notes, Canonsburg PA, Thursday 08 June 1933, front page & page 3 - CHARTIERS FARMER DIES AT HIS HOME ---- Following an illness of about three weeks FRANK R. WEAVER, 78, known to his many friends as "Dick", died at his home in Chartiers Township late yesterday afternoon. He had followed farming all his life, having lived in Cecil Township until 12 years ago when he moved to the present farm on the Canonsburg-Venice Road. Funeral services will be held in the late home Friday, June 9, at 3 p.m. daylight saving time, and will be in charge of the Rev. Paul J. Lux, pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church of Canonsburg. Burial will be in Oak Spring Cemetery. Mr. Weaver was born in Cecil Township August 17, 1855, being the son of THOMAS and ELIZABETH LESNETT WEAVER. He was married to SARAH JANE McNARY on August 19, 1892, who died in 1910. While a successful farmer Mr. Weaver was perhaps best known through his activities as a thresherman, and was well known in that capacity over a wide area. He was the oldest in point of service in the state, of those who followed that occupation. He is survived by three children, DELL WEAVER, MRS. MARY WHITE and MRS. BERTHA FEHL, all residing in the vicinity of Canonsburg. Nine grandchildren are also living.
