Fannie Ford Mitchell, 97, of Garland, died Friday at Doctors Hospital in Dallas. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Assembly of God Church in Greenville. Burial will be in Humboldt Cemetery. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge.

Fannie Ford Mitchell, 97, of Garland, died Friday in a Dallas hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Mike Shields and Rev. Donald LaBrot officiating. Burial will be in Humboldt Cemetery.

Mrs. Ford was born in Colorado City on Aug. 8, 1903, to James Martin and Clementina Jane Callison Steen. She married William Austin Ford in 1919 in Campbell and he died in 1938. She then married George A. Mitchell in 1962 in Greenville and he died in 1977. She was a charter member of the First Assembly of God in Greenville and was currently a member of Southside Assembly of God in Garland.

Surviving are daughters Barbara Hott of Irving, Evelyn Jones of Garland, Gladys Hyden and Jean Wells of Greenville, Ruth Morrow of Dallas and Dorothy Delcore of Odessa; an adopted son, Bob Frasier of Odessa, and numerous grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, Melvin Roy Ford in 1999, three brothers and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be grandsons James Murley, Levoy Wells, Michael Hyden, Ronald Hyden, Bobby Delcore and Fed Hott.

Coker-Mathews is in charge of arrangements and visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m.
