Mr. Charles "Sonny" Shoffner, 62, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at Moses Cone Hospital.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at Greenview Cemetery in Reidsville.

A native of Greensboro, Mr. Shoffner was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from Duke Power, after 36 years of service and also worked for the Greensboro Coliseum for many years. He was a member of the union, enjoyed hockey and a Carolina Tarheel fan. He was a loving father and brother.

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, David and Terri Shoffner of Greensboro; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Terry Franklin of Climax; sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Buz Ward of Gibsonville; grandsons, Jonathan and Travis Franklin; and three step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home N. Elm St.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 111-D Pomona Dr., Greensboro, N.C. 27407.
