The Westview Cemetery office kindly confirmed that Mary Cilley Bedinger's elusive son, Henry Clay Bedinger (1865/1912) is buried there. He is recorded there only as initial, H. Bedinger, Section 11, Lot 260 (four graves across). So this is the husband of Alice Graybill Bedinger.

We learn that: "Third, Henry Clay [Bedinger] married Alice Graybill, 1888. They have five living children: Henry Graybill, Walton Everett, Mary, Robert Daniel, Susan. Emily died in 1907."[George Michael Bedinger: a Kentucky pioneer, By Danske Bedinger Dandridge, abt pgs 224-226]. Notice how this extract refers to Emily dying, so six kids altogether.

His granddaughter, Lilian Taylor, tells us his date of birth as 9 Feb 1865, relying on Walton Everett Bedinger Sr's (dcd) poster sized chart; she believes he lived in Decatur which merged into nearby Atlanta, GA. Lillian also noted that the youngest child, Susan & husband, Frank Fiedler were of Ottumwa Iowa.

Henry Clay Bedinger b. abt 1865, with a wife Alice, and similarly named kids shows up in the 1910 Fed Census: [Year: 1910; Census Place: Atlanta Ward 9, Fulton, Georgia; Roll: T624_190; Page: 8B; Enumeration District: 0113; ; FHL microfilm: 1374203]; also 1900 [Year: 1900; Census Place: Fairfield, Butler, Ohio; Roll: 1243; Page: 21B; Enumeration District: 0002; FHL microfilm: 1241243]. Kenneth A. Graybeal, Buckley WA writes on his informative website that "Henry [b.1865] was a graduate of Central University of Kentucky, an elder in the Presbyterian Church, and Superintendent of a Government Farm at Atlanta, GA."

Other men by this name include soldier: Lt, Mo. Calvary/Confed.,Civil War, Henry Clay Bedinger 2nd (1832/1908) Oakland Cem. or City Greenwood Cem.?,Weatherford, TX, wife Susan. He was "second child of Henry Clay Bedinger and his wife Judith"[Author, Danske Bedinger Dandridge] This is a different line, not to be confused here...

Thanks to the tombstone picture added to here, we now can see that he died in Atlanta, GA as inscribed on the lovely large monument. Photos help so much--thank you!
