Died while serving in Binh Thuy, South Vietnam, as a gunner with Troop E, 2nd Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry, on his second tour of duty. Thrown from a tank and run over. Recipient of the Combat Infantryman's Badge, Bronze Star with "V" device and Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, RVN Campaign Medal and RVN Military Merit Medal.
