Rev. Arthur Merriman rites today in St. Paul's

The Rev. Arthur Breese Merriman, 78, of 989 James St., died Friday after a long illness.
Mr. Merriman was born in Syracuse and attended Black Hall School in Connecticut. He later graduated from the General Theological Seminary in New York City. He was ordained at St. Paul's Episcopal Church here and served as curate of the church for several years.
Mr. Merriman was rector of churches in Clayton and LaFargeville and later St. James Episcopal Church, Skaneateles, before becoming rector of the Church of the Savior here.
He served as rector at the Church of the Savior for 29 years before going to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Jamesville, where he was rector until 1965.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Yvonne Chatelain Merriman; a daughter, Mrs. Yvonne Talbott of Fayetteville; a sister, Mrs. Walter C. Rundle of Orleans, Mass; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The body will lie in state this morning in the chapel of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the memorial funds of the Church of the Saviour, St. Paul's Episcopal Church or the American Heart Fund. Arrangements are by the Fairchild and Meech Funeral Chapel, 500 W. Onondaga St.
