He was a chef and worked for many area restaurants as well as at Rockingham Race Track. He enjoyed carpentry, fishing, playing bluegrass music, and flea markets.
He was the father of Michael "Mickey" Kierstead and his wife, Liz, of Texas, Arthur Kierstead and his wife, Sue, of Londonderry, N.H., Brett Kierstead and his companion, Jan Higgins, of Sandown, N.H., Gary Kierstead and his wife, Diane, of Raymond, N.H., Gerry Kierstead and his wife, Norma, of Derry, N.H., Robin Kierstead of Maine, and Caitlyn Kierstead of Somerville; and former husband of Muriel Nichols of Maine and Carol Kierstead of Somerville. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
