Funeral Services for Mr. Clifton "C. L." Cross will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, with Rev. Sherman Busby officiating, assisted by Rev. Bennie McBride.

Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball.

The family requests that visitation be observed Monday, December 10, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:oo p.m. and continue Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. Cross, 95, of Alexandria, was born October 20, 1917 in Tioga and passed away Monday, December 3, 2012 at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.

Mr. Cross retired as Chief Foreman of the Alexandria City Water Department in June of 1975 after 36 ½ years of service.

He was very active in his church, serving many years on the board of deacons, first at Community Baptist in Alexandria and later at Homewood Baptist Church.

He will be fondly remembered as a man passionate about his Lord Jesus Christ and as a strong and loving father and grandfather. He loved hunting and fishing and working in his large vegetable garden.

Mr. Cross was preceded in death by his wife, Loy Cross; his parents, Herbert and Zadie Reed Cross and his 5 brothers and 5 sisters.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his son, Gerald "Ken" Cross; 5 grandchildren; Mark Cross, Melanie Cross Elliott, Michael Cross, Mendy Cross and Matthew Cross: Nine great grandchildren; Dustin, Dakota, Delia, Parker Marie, Scott, Kassidy, Clint, Carter and Jordain: five great-great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Mark Cross, Michael Cross, Matt Cross, Dustin Cross, Dakota Cross and Clint Cross. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Cross, Tom Orr, C.M. Gintz and Gary Cross.
