Graveside services, conducted by the Rev. Josh Turner, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 26 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 25 at Grace Freewill Baptist Church, Louisa.
He is survived by 10 children, Ray Cowick of North Carolina, Ronald Cowick and his wife, Robin, of Amelia, Marcus Cowick of Florida, Faye Williard and her husband, Willie, Christine Vernon and her husband, Jimmy, Jacqueline Vernon and Geraldine Lundy and her husband, Larry, all of North Carolina, Lorine Ledford and her husband, Allen, of Florida, Patricia Kelley and her husband, Wayne, of Bumpass and Susan Henson of Richmond; two brothers, Ernest Cowick and his wife, Louise, and Fred Cowick, all of North Carolina; a sister, Laura Bell Wilholt of North Carolina; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Cowick was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Edna Cowick; and a son, James Cowick.
He served in the United States Army during World War II as an aircraft machine gunner.
