Mrs. Louisa M. Cridler was born in Mahoning county, Ohio, October 30, 1827 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. A. Sybrant, October 5, 1915, at the age of 87 years, 11 months, and 5 days.
She moved to Crawford county, Pa., at the age of ten years, where she resided until October, 1901 when she moved to Rock county, Neb., and has lived here most of the intervening time with her daughter.
In January, 1843, she was married to Oliver P. McFadden, to this union eight children were born, three dying in infancy: Jonathon, Anna, and Mima; there are four sons and one daughter living: Mrs. Lucretia A. Sybrant, Jefferson and James McFadden of Sybrant, Neb., Lafayette of Guys Mills, Pa., and John of Elkhart, Ind. Two sisters and two brothers survive her: Mrs. Clara Stull, Mrs Anna Ling, G. W. Shorts, and T. G. Shorts, all in Pennsylvania. She was a daughter of Robert and Jemima Shorts, and to this remarkable union were born twenty-one children of which she was the third; there were four pairs of twins. Fourteen lived to grow up and all were married. She has Twenty-five grand-children and thirty-three great grand-children. Her death was due mostly to old age, she was confined to her bed for about four weeks.
NOTE: Oliver P. McFadden was born in 1822 and died in 1867 in Pa. At some time after Oliver's death Louisa married Daniel "Dan" Cridler in Pa. He was born in 1835. Apparently he died in Pa. before Louisa came to Nebraska in 1901.
