Mr. Orville Lee Harris, age 73, of Mountain View Circle, Honaker, Virginia passed away Thursday (December 6, 2012) at his home. Born December 18, 1938 in Drill, Virginia, he was a son of the late Garnett and Lola Belle Harris and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Lee Harris; two brothers, J.T. Harris and Claude Allen Harris and one infant sister.
Survivors include two sons, Ricky D. Harris and companion, Cindy Bostic of the Crossroads section of Lebanon and Henry "Smokey" Harris and fiancée, Susan Owens of Honaker, Virginia; two daughters, Bonita Mitchell and husband, Johnny of North Tazewell, Virginia and Sandra Kay Harris of Honaker, Virginia; one granddaughter that he raised, Brooke Harris of Honaker, Virginia; one step-son, Timothy Stump and wife, Diane of Ohio; three step-daughters, Debbie Duncan and husband, Dale and Mary Jo Harris both of Ohio and Ida Robin Ricker of Mississippi; three brothers, David Earl Harris and wife, Millie, Chester Harris and Robert Harris all of Honaker, Virginia and one sister, Patty Sue Harris of Honaker, Virginia; twenty-one grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Henry "Smokey" Harris and Susie Owens for the wonderful care and kindness they have shown.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Lee Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Frank Smith Cemetery on Big A Mountain.
Pallbearers will be David Harris, Jr., Ricky Harris, Brian Harris, Johnny Mitchell, D.J. Barton, George Harris, Justin Collins and Dalton Harris.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy D. Harris, Roger Harris, Dallas Thompson, James Harris, Lloyd Harris, and Ernie Perkins.
Friends may call after 6 PM at the Honaker Funeral Home where an evening song service will be conducted at 7 PM.
