Found in The State 26 November 1935: Funeral services for Edward Charles Chavis, three-day-old son of Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Chavis, who died at 9:30 Monday morning at their residence, will be conducted at 1:30 this afternoon from the residence by the Rev. C. M. Dempsey, pastor of the House of God. Interment will be in Olympia Cemetery. The child is survived by his parents; one sister, Louise; one brother, Kenneth, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Shirey of Columbia and Mr. and Mrs. Ira Chavis of Norway.
