"Athalee Jacklin Greer, left this life to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on the evening of Dec. 4, 2012.

Athalee was born on Dec. 3, 1920 in Coffeyville, KS and was the only child of Frank and Lenore Jacklin. In her childhood years, she resided next door to her Grandparents (Mr. and Mrs. U.F. Griffin) and her Great-grandmother Mrs. Lee Laws. At an early age it was discovered that she had a special talent for the violin. She played in numerous orchestras and ensembles in her youth. The violin was a source of great enjoyment in her life.

On June 4, 1939 she married her long time sweet heart, Charles Edward Greer ("C.E.") III. Together they had two sons, Frank Leon Greer and Charles Edward Greer. They were married for 73 blissful years. In 1957, the family moved to Hattiesburg, MS. for C.E. to take part in the opening of the Pontiac Eastern Refinery in Purvis, MS. Athalee soon started her own career in Real Estate. She was one of a few women that worked in this profession at that time. It was through her hard work and tenacity that she was able to assist C.E. in sending both of their sons to the University of TN, School of Dentistry.

Athalee and C.E. began to work for the Assemblies of God in Mexico building churches after C.E.'s retirement. She also taught bible school and Sunday school for many years until her health would no longer permit further service.

Athalee was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was respected by all that knew her.

She leaves behind her husband C.E., her sons, Frank (wife, Sandra) and Charles IV; (wife, Barbara) her grandsons, Charles V (wife, Sweetie), Frank Joseph, her granddaughter Sarah (husband, Eric) and a step great-grandson, Austin. Her grandson Charles V and wife Sweetie presented Athalee with the greatest joy of her life, which was her great-grandchildren, Charles VI and Abigail Grace. She reminded us often that we will all be together again in heaven with Christ our Savior.

Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 AM Saturday at the Rivers of Life Church, 1425 Carterville Road Petal, MS. Funeral Services will follow, Saturday at 11:00 AM.
