Jack Prince, 89, formerly of Jersey Shore, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the Gatehouse in Williamsport.

He was born Nov. 17, 1923, in Jersey Shore, the son of Charles and Gertrude (Overdorf) Prince.

Jack was the husband of the late Blanche Tomb Prince who passed in 2004.

He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

Jack had retired from Piper Aircraft after 35 years of service.

He was an avid Penn State fan.

Jack's favorite past times included playing horseshoes, tinkering around the house, hunting, fishing, visiting and supporting the LAPS kitties, telling stories, making people laugh, spending time with family and friends and above all - eating.

He is survived by six nephews, Bill Fidler, Charles Prince, Jack and Charles Rhinehart, James and Jack Prince; six nieces, Patty Long, Judy Reese, Joann Confer, Donna Bower, Shirley Beaver and Carol Hackenberg; two stepdaughters, Lois Bamonte and Emily Sweeley; and their extended families.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. A gathering will be held immediately following the service at 421 Washington Ave., Jersey Shore.

Family encourages memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to be made to the Lycoming Animal Protection Society, 195 Phillips Park Drive, South Williamsport, PA 17702 or to the Gatehouse 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.

Arrangements are being handled by the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home of Jersey Shore.
