Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hampton with burial in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton (641-456-3232). Fr. Bernard Grady will officiate the service.
Mary Berniece McCoy, 76, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away November 29, 2008, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa. She was born December 17, 1931, in West Burlington, Iowa, to Frank and Elsie (Schultke) Stodt. Mary graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in West Burlington, Iowa. She married Edward Lewis McCoy on June 2, 1956, in West Burlington, Iowa. Mary was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Hampton.
She loved her grandchildren very much. Mary loved to read, knit, bake and bird watch. She was an inspiration to all of us with her strong faith and her trust in God. Mary had a kind word and was always there when you needed her.
She is survived by daughter Michelle & husband Robert Schaefer of Hampton, son Michael McCoy of Geneva, daughter Catherine & husband Brad Huffman of Hampton, daughter Kimberly & husband Phillip Walker of Iowa Falls, grandchildren Robyn McCoy, Morgan and Brittany Schaefer, Jamie, Madison and Ryan Huffman, Jessica and Jeremy Walker, her great granddaughter Nicole McCoy, and her sister Chris Stoykovich of Los Banos, California. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward McCoy and five [four] brothers [and an infant sister].
