Born to Charles D'Estrepagny (variations; DeTrepagner, Trepanier) and Marie Marrette in Dieppe, Seine-Maritime, Haute-Normandie, France. Romain immigrated to Beaupre New France (Quebec) in 1655 and was granted land from the King of France in New France and settled in the Chateau-Richer region. Romain married Genevieve Drouin; born in Quebec, on April 24, 1656 when she was 12 years of age. Together they had 10 children and established themselves as founders of the "Trepanier's" in North America.
