The story is that years ago a man had a threshing rig in an adjoining field which became mired in mud. The man knocked down all the stones in this cemetery and used them to get the rig back on the road, leaving the markers lying in the mud. Part of a headstone was found in the woods...Thankful... The cemetery is now a grove of trees; there were 20-40 early burials.
