Lloyd Emmett "Tubby" Thornton - age 84 of Alcoa passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at his home. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved to fish and watch old movies. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force with 35 years of service and 4 years of service in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna Maxine Thornton; parents James and Ella Thornton.
Survivors include his children, Christy Bradburn, Meloni Bradburn, Shawn Thornton, Robin Curtis, and Kari Martin; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 706 Amerine Rd. Maryville, TN 37804 with Bishop Richard Uddy officiating. Family and friends will meet 2:30 Sunday at Morganton Cemetery for the interment with full military honors.
The family will receive friends at the church from 5 to 7 P.M. Saturday.
