Oscar Johnson
Oscar Johnson, 78, 927 Wilson St., a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, died Jan. 8 at his home.
He was born Jan. 23, 1904, at Ettrick, Wis., to Hans and Bertha Johnson. He moved from Wisconsin to the Hoquiam, Wash., area in 1944. He married Vivian Klinkenberg Feb. 14, 1952, and they moved to Hood River in 1953. They owned a fruit farm until 1970, when he retired. His wife died in 1971.
Survivors include: two stepsons, Merlin Bergum of Hood River and Carl Bergum of The Dalles, a brother, Norville Johnson of Wisconsin; three sisters, Mabel Berg of Washington, Helga Knutson of Washington and Tina Affeldt of Portland; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 2:30 p.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Roger Sylwester officiating. Internment will be at Idlewild Mausoleum. Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
