Clyde A. Brandon, 81, of Harrison, died Tuesday, December 18, at the Clare Community Hospital, after a sudden illness.
He was born on November 28, 1903, in Vinton County, Ohio, the son of Charles C. and Edith B. (Greuey) Brandon.
Mr. Brandon has resided in Clare County for the last sixteen years, moving here from Lansing. Clyde served in the U.S. Navy, twenty years in the Michigan National Guard and the Michigan State Troops. Clyde was united in marriage to Florence E. Palmer on September 14, 1928, in Logan, Ohio.
Surviving are his wife, Florence of Harrison; four sons, Dale and wife Jan of Clare, Keith of Dewitt, Dean and wife Elizabeth of Grand Ledge, and Daniel and wife Donna of Lake, on daughter, Mrs. Rodney (Bonnie) Reed of Manitou Springs, Colorado, 3 brothers, Mervin and Paul, both of Thornville, Ohio, and Richard of Newark, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Thelma Terry of Thornville, Ohio, fifteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, December 21, at 1:00 p.m. from the Coker-Stocking Funeral Home in Harrison with the Elder Dale Beavers officiating. Interment was in the Mt, Pleasant Memorial Gardens, Mt. Pleasant. (The Clare Sentinel, p. 6 - Clare, MI - 2 January 1985)
