Cy, 87, 2204 St. Johns Rd., Maria Stein, died 9:45 a.m., at the Gardens of St. Henry.

He was the son of Anthony and Josephine (Holdheide) Broering. On May 7, 1952, in Sharpsburg, he married Mildred "Millie" Guggenbiller, who survives in Maria Stein.

Also surviving are four sons: Anthony (Linda), Michael (Kathy), Steve (Nancy) and Ken (Karen), all Maria Stein; a daughter, Elaine (David) Wolters, Maria Stein; a brother, Harold (Rosella), Maria Stein; two sisters-in-law: Irene Broering, Frenchtown, and Kate Broering, Maria Stein; and twenty-six grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren.

Deceased are seven brothers: Lawrence, Richard, Joseph, Fr. Victor, Andrew, Clarence, Roman; and a sister Rosemary Overman.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, Men's Sodality of the Church, Knights of St. John, Maria Stein, Catholic Financial Life and on the Marion Local School Board for 11 years. He was a veteran during the Korean War. A lifelong farmer, he was a Marion Mutual Insurance Agent.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with Rev. Kenneth Schroeder officiating.
