He was born August 13, 1864 in Monroe Co., Iowa. The eldest of five children ( Charles H, Olive R., James M., Rosa M. & Henry C.) born to James T. and Elizabeth (Taylor) McCormick. He married Adda A. Wood on January 2, 1889 at Melrose, Iowa. They had six children, Maude Almiria, Blanche Annetta, Zoe Lucinda, Hugh Alan, Mark Cecil and Ruth Honor. Charles died October 10, 1904 at age 40 from tuberculosis. Maude died November 16, 1904 and it is believed that she also died from tuberculosis. Zoe died April 11, 1911. They are all buried at Albia, Iowa.
