D'IBERVILLE --- Minnie Mae "Vera" Saucier Taylor, 79, died Monday, April 24, 2000, in D'Iberville.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Landon and had been a lifelong resident of the Coast. She was employed as a welder during World War II and was a short order cook for many years. She was a member of the VFW in Gulfport and a member of Latimer Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Taylor; a daughter, Vivian Webb; a grandson, Michael Roy Seymour Jr.; her parents, Noel and Minnie Barton Saucier; a brother, Noel Saucier; and four sisters, Opal Zarick, Geraldine Knapp, Audrey Saucier and Edith Saucier.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Jack "Floy" Bowman of Porter, Texas, Mrs. Michael "Linda" Seymour and Mrs. Ray "Marie" Simmons, both of Ocean Springs, and Patricia White of Illinois; two sons, James Parrish of Bryan, Texas and Joseph Weidner of D'Iberville; 23 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes of Biloxi. A service will be at 10 a.m. today in the funeral home chapel with burial in Biloxi City Cemetery.
