Alyce Blickenstaff, 89, of Nampa, died on Thursday, March 20, 1997, in a Las Vegas, Nevada, hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at ll a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 1997, at the Nampa First Baptist Church, 1417 3rd. St. So. Rev. Leon Nelson, Interim pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. Services are under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Alyce Blickenstaff was born on Dec. 1, 1907, in Spiritwood, North Dakota, the daughter of Andrew and Alice Fluetsch. At a young age she moved with her family to Nampa and they settled in the Greenhurst community. She was reared and educated in Nampa. As a young lady she was employed at the Manley and Scott Jewelry store. She married Isaac Blickenstaff on June 29, 1930, in Nampa and they celebrated 60 years of marriage in 1980. Her husband preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 1980. Alyce was a 60 year resident of the Bennett community and active in the Bennett Community Club. For the past several years she had made her home at the Sunny Ridge Retirement Center. She was an active and devoted member of the Nampa First Baptist Church.
Alyce is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and George Holmgren, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Kaye and Rich Paulson, Soap Lake, WA; a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Kathy Blickenstaff, Nampa; two sisters, Margaret Blickenstaff and Grace Altizer, both of Nampa; seven grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and six brothers.
Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel on Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to the Nampa First Baptist Church, 1417 3rd Street S., Nampa, 83651, a favorite charity or flowers may be sent.
