Laura (Merrifield) Bragg/Gillmore (1826-1915) was born in Foxboro, Massachusetts, Oct, 1826.

She married Alexis Bragg in 1843 in Foxboro.

Alexis was born in Milford, Massachusetts, May 20, 1818 the son of Ariel Bragg and Nancy Mellon.

They had four children - Civil War U.S. Army Maj. Henry Mellen (spelling per baptism and school records) Bragg (1844-1871), Fred M. Bragg (1846-?), Laura Gertrude (1848-?), and Florence B. (Bragg) Garretson (1850-?).

Alexis died of illness, Feb. 1, 1871 in Brooklyn, N.Y.. Info per U.S. census records, church records, and marriage records.

She then re-married to U.S. Army - Major General Quincy Adams Gillmore in 1872. Q. A. Gillmore died in 1888. Laura then living with her daughter, Florence, per the 1915 census, died on July 15, 1915.
