Jean E. Butler (ada Georgene Ellenor Smith Boyenger Butler), long time resident of Emmett, Nampa, Kuna, and Boise, Idaho, passed away peacefully of natural causes Sunday, November 23, 2008, holding the hand of her son at the Rock Canyon Rehab and Nursing Center in Provo, Utah.
In 1942 she had a radium implant for cancer at a hospital in San Francisco and was given a life expectancy of five to seven years. For the past three and one-half years, she had lived in Orem and Provo, Utah.
Born February 9, 1910 in Payson, Utah, she lived 98 years and nine months, and had been a widow for 27 years.
Jean was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald Lucien (Lou) Boyenger, and her second husband, Neri Louis Butler. She is survived by a son, Gerald Lavon (Betty) Boyenger of Provo, Utah, stepsons, Evan Louis (Doris) Butler of Hurricane, Utah, Delbert Claude (Doris) Butler of Enumclaw, Washington, and Gerald Neri (Kay) Butler of Harper, Oregon, 13 grandsons, 9 granddaughters, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
