Bob Butler was retired military with the rank of SFC (E-7) and served two tours of duty in Viet Nam during the war. He received several medals while serving in VN. He served four years in the US Navy, then joined the Army. He retired with 21 years service and is buried in the "Garden of Valor".
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary "Lucy" (Walker) Butler, a son Robert "Rob" Buter (Rita); 2 daughters, Dee (Butler) Hannah, and Dana (Butler) Cortez(Xavier); 12 grandchildren; his mother, Gladys (Dean) Butler; a sister, Martha (Butler) Phillips; and a brother, CPO Leon Butler; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, SFC JT Butler and his older brother, Billy James Butler, a nephew, Billy James, Butler, Jr., and a niece, Naomi Dawn (Butler) Gregory.
Since his death, our family has grown, so far, by 19 great-grandchildren! He would love them so much.
