Mrs. Stuart was born in Wiota township. She lived on the same farm for 76 years. She taught rural schools for several years before her marriage in 1876 to Robert Stuart.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mayme Segner, South Wayne; a sister, Hessie Kempton, South Wayne; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Stuart was a charter member of the South Wayne Eastern Star chapter.
