Lucille R. Berry, 89, of Charles Town, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Shenandoah Center, Charles Town.

Born Nov. 21, 1923, in Charles Town, she was the daughter of James H. Rideoutt and Bertha (Snowden) Rideoutt.

Mrs. Berry had worked at the VA Medical Center, Martinsburg, as a dietitian and she was a loving mother, homemaker and grandmother.

She was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church.

She is survived by her son, William S. "Billy" Berry Jr. and wife, Iris, of Charles Town; grandson, Derrick; granddaughters, Shaunte and Jackie; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Gee, of Baltimore, Md.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Silas "Wash" Berry Sr., who died March 1, 1999; daughter, Sylvia A. Berry, who died Feb. 9, 1985; six sisters, Erma Berry, Clara Holland, Madge Barber, Betty Fisher, Sylvia Bishop and Veda Butler; and five brothers, Robert, Macgruder, Donald, James and Edgar Rideoutt.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, 411 S. Lawrence St., Charles Town, with the Rev. Melanie McCarley officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Arrangements are by Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.
