HOLYOKE - Robert T. Foran, age 80, of Holyoke died Monday, December 3, 2012 at the Holyoke Soldier's Home. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Henry E. and Helen (Barrett) Foran, was a graduate of The University of Miami of Florida with a degree in Accounting, and did graduate work at the University of Michigan, Dartmouth College, and UMass. Bob was a United States Army Paratrooper during the Korean War. He was employed as a Controller and Group Division Vice President at Mass Mutual Insurance Company, retiring in 1990. He is survived by his wife, Carole J. (Clayton) Foran, two sons, Robert T. Foran, Jr., and his wife Susan of Holyoke, and Michael C. Foran and his wife Colleen of Ware, one daughter, Lizabeth H. Murray and her husband William of Warren, MA; 5 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, John F. Foran. The funeral will be held on Friday morning at 10:45 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by a Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church at 11:45 a.m. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA.
