John J. Kret, Sr. of San Antonio went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at the age of 85. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His love of gardening and the outdoors, he passed on to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
John proudly served his country for 22 years. He retired from the United States Army as a Warrant Officer. John was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He loved sports and enjoyed the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Astros. John also enjoyed Czech music and dancing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Martha; children, Sandra Ann Hill and husband Gary, Martha Jane Collins and husband Danny, and John J. Kret, Jr. and wife Mona; grandchildren, Lesli Herzog and husband Randy, Valerie Kroll and husband Brent, Michael Collins and wife Cindy, Amber Niewinski and husband John, Ronnie Collins and wife Lisa, Kristen Collins, John Austin Kret and Cody Moore; great-grandchildren, Kassidy and Sydney Kroll, Madison, Jett and Jager Collins, Bailee Niewinski and two little angels on the way, Emma Grace and Baby Collins.
