Charles Linden Fletcher, 77, of Brooks Street, Greeneville, died Saturday morning at his home.

Mr. Fletcher was a member of Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church and attended as long as his health permitted.

He taught Sunday School for many years and sang in a church quartet and also in a quartet with his children.

The family provided the following statement:

"One noticeable thing when visiting his home was his open Bibles. He was always writing poems and songs which will be cherished by his children and grandchildren. His last Christmas gift to his family was a book of his poems.

"Mr. Fletcher loved flea markets, antiques, yard sales, and woodworking. His children's wish is that all children could have such a wonderful Christian father as an example.

"He was constantly wanting to do for others and always thinking of himself last."
