David E. Gossett, 58, Cameron, Missouri, died Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Missouri Veterans' Home.

He was born January 10, 1953 to Ellis Eugene and Dorla Deanne (Harris) Gossett.

He was a mechanic and retired from the United States Navy. He attended St. Paul Methodist Church and was a member of American Legion Post 359. David was very active in Boy Scouts having attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He was involved with the Disabled Veterans of America. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Daniel Gossett.

Survivors: brother, Robert Gossett of St. Joseph, Missouri; niece, Emma Gossett of St. Joseph; nephew, Charlie Gossett of Clarksville, Tennessee; aunts, LaDonna, Patty, and Leota who were instrumental in David's Care; and an uncle, Jack.

Services: Services to be scheduled at a later date under the direction of Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The Family suggests memorial gifts to the Boy Scouts of America.
