EVANSDALE — Vernon A. Little, 80, of Evansdale, died on Sunday, December 2, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born on April 19, 1932, in Marysville, son of Thomas J. and Hannah J. Comstock Little. He married Eldeen F. "Dena" Chiri on June 30, 1951, in Chariton.

Mr. Little served in the Army National Guard and had worked at John Deere as a mechanic for 30 years, retiring in 1987.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Steven of Waterloo and Doug of Evansdale; three daughters, Debra (Rick) Corwin, and Kelli Billington, both of Evansdale, and Kim (Mike) Berry of Elk Run Heights; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Styrl (Connie) of Texas; and three sisters, Twila (Richard) Roberts of Montana, Veva (George) Becker of Colorado, and Illa (Dr. Mike) Harvey of Urbandale.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Larry, Harold, and Tommy in infancy; and two sisters, Thelma Michael and Ethel Faye Little in infancy.

Graveside services at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Graveside military rites conducted by Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138, VFW Post 1623, and Iowa Army National Guard Honors Detail.
