Hester was a member of Belgreen Church of Christ, a WWII veteran, served with 9595 Field Artillery Battalion at Fort Ord in California in 1943.
He served in Europe with Corp Main Artillery until June 24, 1944; then he returned to the States in 1945 and was discharged.
Services were held Saturday, 2 p.m., at Spry Funeral Home chapel with Jackie Richardson and Raymond Harville officiating.
Burial was at Franklin Memory Gardens.
