Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Florence Matilda MacDonald LeBaron Carlow, age 73, passed away June 21, 1996, in Salt Lake City, Utah, from complications following hip surgery.

Florence was born November 13, 1922, in Ponoka, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Peter and Sarah Severance MacDonald. She married Arthur Bentley LeBaron on December 20, 1942 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Cardston, Alberta LDS Temple. Arthur preceded her in death on March 26, 1991. She married Charles Woodrow Carlow on December 27, 1991, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Florence's life was filled with service to her church, her friends, and particularly her family. She captivated strangers and family alike with her sense of humor, her songs, her dramatic flair for storytelling, and her zest for living life to the fullest. She loved literature and poetry, and had poems published in several books and magazines. Her greatest talent was building people and sharing love and strength with everyone with whom she came in contact with. She continued to do this her entire life despite the challenges she faced with poor health and disabilities. She opened her home to hundreds of people over the years, and inspired her children and grandchildren to strive for lofty goals and high ideals.

Survivors include her husband, Charles, of Salt Lake City; one son and two daughters; Genie (Winston) Lee; Gail (Jim) Christensen,both of Orem, Utah; Neil (Ruth Ann) LeBaron, Salt Lake City, Utah; stepchildren, SueVon (Tom) Butterfield; Richard (Cindy) Carlow; Teddie Lyne (John) Uhi, all of Salt Lake City, Utah; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Patricia Jones, Ponoka, Alberta, Canada; Eva Harris, Virden, Manitoba, Canada; Bessie (William) Melenka, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; Catherine (Vern) Wilson, Big Water, Utah.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 26, 1996, 11 a.m., at the Rosecrest Second Ward, 3101 South 2300 East.Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Orem City Cemetery at 1:30 pm. Funeral directors: The Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
