passed away peacefully in her sleep. Cynthia was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on January 23, 1962. She was the first of three children of Dr. Meredith (deceased) and Joybelle Haines. All three children,
Cynthia, Michael and Lisa, brought much joy and excitement into the lives of Med and Joybelle.
Cynthia is survived by her two
children, Johnathan Blake (19) a freshman at Chico State College, and Alison Meredith Barton (15), a sophmore in High School, her
husband James, her brother
Michael (Amy), her sister Lisa Haines Heppelmann (Larry) and her mother, Joybelle Haines, who resides in O'Connor Woods in Stockton. She is preceded in death by her father, Meredith (2006).
Cynthia moved to Stockton with her parents when she was four. She attended local schools and graduated in 1980 from Tokay High School. She was an avid swimmer, runner and enjoyed playing tennis with her Dad. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Stockton.
She attended Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Calif, and later went to work for American Savings. In 1987, she joined Congressman Norman Shumway's staff, working in his Stockton office until his retirement. She continued with Congressman John Doolittle -- and moved to Roseville to work in his district office. She worked for the Federal Government for more than 20 years.
In addition to her immediate
family, Cynthia leaves behind six nephews and nieces -- Hunter, Henry, Jack, Lilly, Max and Ava, and countless aunts, uncles,
cousins and dear friends.
Cynthia was a fun girl and full of life. She enjoyed cooking and had a number of famous dishes that she put her own personal stamp on.
She derived great pleasure from her two children, John and Ali, and was incredibly proud of them and their many accomplishments. She was happiest in their presence ... and was not only their Mother, but their best friend.
While Cynthia was taken from this earth much too soon, she will never be forgotten -- and will
continue to live on in our hearts and memories. A private visitation will be held on Tuesday evening at Chapel of the Valley in Roseville. A memorial service in celebration of Cynthia's life will be held on Wednesday at 11 am at Bayside West Community Church in Roseville. She will be laid to rest at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi.
