Leonard Ramsey, 81, of Oak Grove Road in Greeneville, died Wednesday evening at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.

Mr. Ramsey retired from General Motors.

He was of the Church of God tradition of faith.

Mr. Ramsey was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Andrew Johnson Post No. 1990.

Survivors include his wife: Rosa Ramsey; three sons and daughters-in-law: Lenny and Barbara Ramsey and Gene and Sarah Morrison, all of Greeneville, and Ricky and Marcella Morrison of Sweetwater; three daughters and sons-in-law: Judy and Sonny Solomon of Midway, Gail and Ralph DeVoti of Greeneville, and Jackie Cutshaw of Mosheim; her grandchildren: Ricky Morrison of Georgetown, Ky., Tony Morrison of Mosheim, Jennifer and Jaime Solomon of Midway, and Stephanie Thompson, Angela DeVoti, Kristi DeVoti, Heather Ramsey, Misty Sams, Lynnette Hixson, and Terra Morrison, all of Greeneville; nine great-grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.

He was a son of the late Willie and Lillie Ramsey and was preceded in death by a brother: J.W. Ramsey; and a sister: Ruth Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Kiser Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Ricky Morrison Sr. will officiate.

Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery at Tusculum

Pallbearers will be Sonny Solomon, Ralph DeVoti, Ricky Morrison Jr., Tony Morrison, Michael Thompson, and Adam Johnson.

A military graveside service will be conducted by the Greeneville-Greene County Honor Guard.
