She was born July 15, 1924, and married George Franklin Watts on Feb. 25, 1949, in Walker County.

Geneva is survived by her husband, George Franklin Watts; daughter, Linda Jean Martin (Joseph); sister, Ruby Fly; brother, Ferris Haynes (Anne); and two grandchildren, Amy Watts and Mindi Bush.

She is pre-deceased by son, Ronald Franklin Watts; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Foster; and several more brothers and sisters.

Geneva was a devoted wife for 63 years. She also was a devoted mother, daughter, sister and friend to many. As the wife of a career military husband and later, an airplane pilot, Geneva learned quickly how to adapt to living in different cities in our country. You could say she became a master at packing and moving her entire family to new locations throughout this great nation.

She will be missed by those of us who know her here on Earth but merrily greeted by those gone before her in heaven.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Watts will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Salem Baptist Church in Ringgold with Rev. Mike Teague officiating.

Entombment will follow in Salem Baptist Church.

Julian Peeples Funeral Home at Rocky Face Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
