12/2012 WE ARE UNCERTAIN REV. SAMUEL WEST IS BURIED HERE. BUT WE KNOW HIS WIFE AND CHILD ARE HERE, AS PER BOSTON DEATH AND BURIAL RECORDS.

.....

Rev. Samuel West for the pastor of Hollis Street Church in Boston from 1789-1808. He has a number of published sermons, one being at the death of George Washington in 1799.

Upon his death, there was a sermon given by John Lathrop (1768-1816), an American Minister, at Hollis Street Church. It was called the interment service. Now whether Rev. Samuel West was laid to rest inside the church is unknown and I think unlikely. It has also been stated that they were no burials at Hollis Street Church as well. So where did Rev. Samuel West end up? We think he is buried at Central Burying Grounds, aka Boston Common Burying Ground. We know for certain that his wife and son are there. But right now, it's just a guess.

Rev. Samuel West married Priscilla Plimpton on February 23, 1769 in Needham, Norfork, Province of Massachusetts Bay. We are certain they had 2 sons, but there may be more.
