Marguerite Achenbach, 93, Geneva, IL, formerly of Morrisonville, IL, died Friday, September 21, 2001, at her residence.
She was born January 23, 1908, on an Indian Reservation in Vinita, OK, the daughter of Richard McWard and Rose Cashen. She married Darrell Achenbach on December 22, 1933 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death in 1991. She spent her early years on the family farm near Morrisonville, and taught school in a rural one room schoolhouse in the 1930's. She moved to Geneva, in 1946 where she served on the Geneva School Board for many years. She was an active member of Geneva United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son: Bill (wife Carolyn) Achenbach of Charlottesville, VA; daughter: Kay (husband Wendell) Clancy of Wayne, IL; grandchildren: Michael, Scott, Tom, Sue, Kathryn, Heidi, and Jess; nine great-grandchildren; brother: Donald McWard of Normal, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 27 at Morrisonville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Glahn officiating. Burial will be in Morrisonville Cemetery.
