Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident, Freda Hall will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 18 at the Cortez First United Methodist Church, Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. Reverand Lynn Evans will be officiating.
Visitation will be held Monday prior to the services beginning at 1 p.m.
Freda was born April 19, 1920 in Manchestor, England the daughter of Louie and Annie Freedson. She passed away on Thursday, July 14 at the Southwest Memorial Hospital at
the age of 85.
Originally from Manchester, England, Freda moved to Montrose, Colo. before settling in Cortez. She was a teachers aide for many years and was the first teachers aide to be involved with the Title One Program at Manaugh Elementary.
She also worked as a librarian helping kids learn to read.
During her spare time Freda enjoyed knitting, reading, and canning. She was a wonderful cook, loved music and was a
avid fan of the Colorado Rockies.
Surviving Freda are her children, LaRue Hall of Cortez, Beverly Hall of Sherman, Tex., Gary Hall and wife Marci of Loveland, Colo.; her grandchildren, Donald, Meghan and Rebecca; and her sister, Sadie Copitch of Manchester, England. Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Donald Earl Hall.
Memorial contributions can be made in Fred'a memory to the American Heart Association.
