IS CRUSHED TO DEATH.
William P. Schulte Fatally Injured in the Steel Works Wednesday
William P. Schulte died Wednesday afternoon as a result of injuries sustained in the Duquesne steel works. The deceased was one of the mostly [sic] widely known and popular boys of the town and his untimely death is deeply regretted.
Young Schulte was employed as a pull-up at the open hearth department of the steel works and was acidentally caught between two railroad cars in the mill yard. The accident occurred at 2;45 o'clock Wednesday afternoon and the unfortunate lad was hurried to the emergency hospital, where everything that medical science could suggest was done to save his life. The attending physicians found that he had been badly crushed across the abdomen, and their efforts to relieve him were in vain and he passed away at 4 o'clock.
The remains were removed to Allebrand's undertaking establishment, where they were prepared for burial. Later they were taken to the Schulte home at No. 1107 Goldstrohm Lane, where they were viewed by many friends and former associates. The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Schulte and was born in Duquesne. He was aged 15 years and 4 months.
The funeral services will be conducted tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock at the St. Joseph's church, and the remains will be laid to rest in St. Joseph's cemetery. (Source: Duquesne Observer, Nov 27, 1908)
