Carlton L. Watson, 78, of 260 Maple St., Black River, NY, passed November 30, 2012, at his home, where he was under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Sat., Dec. 8th at the Bruce Funeral Home, Black River.

Calling hours will precede the service on Sat. from 10a.m.until 11 a.m.at the funeral home.

Burial with military honors will be 2 p.m. Sat. at the South Edwards Cemetery.

Born on August 9, 1934 in Pinckney, NY, son of Harley and Evelyn Lehr Watson Sr., he graduated from Watertown High School in 1952.

He entered the US Army on December 2, 1954, and was honorably discharged on November 30, 1962, receiving the good conduct medal.

He married Rita Flannigan on December 11, 1958, in Rochester. The couple resided in Rochester, where he worked for Eastman Kodak for a year. He then worked for Schlegel Textile Mill in Rochester for over 40 years, retiring as a foreman. In 2008, he moved to Black River.

Among his survivors are four sisters Shirley Kaiser, Carthage, Eleanor Watson and Margaret Sweet, Black River, Ruth Ann Copeland, Potsdam; a brother and sister in law, William and Jane Watson, TX; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Flannigan died December 26, 1968, a sister, Doris Murray and a brother Harley Watson Jr. died before him.
