He was born in Jay County on Aug. 29, 1919, the son of Ray and Ota (Ford) Beck. He was a U.S. Navy WW II veteran. He retired from Sheller-Globe Corporation in Portland. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Jay Lodge #87 F& AM in Portland and Samaritan Masonic Lodge #105.
Surviving are one son James Beck (wife Cindy) of Marion; one daughter Mrs. Tim (Kris) Caster of Portland; eight grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, 221 N. Meridian St., Portland. Burial will follow in Green Park Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with Masonic services at 7:00 p.m.
