Henry Lester Allen, 82, of Rombauer died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Allen was born August 11, 1930 at Broseley. He had lived in California for a few years and returned to Broseley in 1967. He was a farmer and contractor. He had served in the Army, stationed in Alaska during the Korean War. He was a member of Black River General Baptist Church at Broseley. He had served as a Deacon at the church since his ordination in 1968. He also taught the High School Sunday School class for 23 years and had served as a Trustee. On June 2, 1955 he was married to June Cornell. She survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Brenda Blackman of Campbell, Cheryl Allen of Rombauer and Ann Allen of Broseley; one brother: Don Allen and wife Roberta of Van Buren; six sisters: Grace Keeling and husband I.J. of Dexter, Maythel Hubbard of Glen Carbon, IL., Barbara Richter of Hutchins, TX, Gladys Smith and husband Bill of Humboldt, TN, Wilma Cagel of Lawrenceville, GA and Jan King and husband Ed of Poplar Bluff; 6 grandchildren: Allen Blackman, Jason Northington, Sarah Northington, Brandy Campbell, Brice Allen and Brock Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ted Wilbur and Anna Bell Gibson Allen; stepmother: Hazel Allen, one sister: Sarah Allen and one brother: William James Allen. Visitation will begin Tuesday at 6:00 PM at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Sanders officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Brown Chapel Cemetery at Broseley. Memorials may be made to Black River General Baptist Church.
