Bess Boone
Mrs. Frank Boone, 83, formerly of 715 Market St., died Saturday, March 28, in Galax, Va., where she lived in recent years. Funeral services and burial were today in Galax.
Bess Burris was born November 13, 1897, in Galax, Va., to Lewis Franklin and Louvenia McMillan Burris. She was first married to Nick Ezell, who owned the White Swan Mattress Company in Emporia. After his death, she married Frank L. Boone, Nov. 12, 1957, in Marion [Kansas]. Mr. Boone was a Santa Fe Railroad telegrapher and tower man before his death in 1971.
Mrs. Boone is survived by two brothers, Hobert and George Burris of Niles, Ohio, and a sister, Nellie Byall of Tucson, Ariz. She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, including Greek and Shirley R. Burris of Emporia.
