Mrs. EMMA GRIFFITH
MANCHESTER CENTER - Mrs. Emma (Seymour) Griffith, 77, widow of Judge Edward Griffith, died in a nursing home here Sunday after a long illness.
A daughter of Felix and Maud (Pomleau) Seymour, she was born in East Dorset June 11, 1890. She was married to Judge Griffith in 1911 in East Dorset and moved to Manchester where he was probate judge for more than 35 years. He died in 1948.
Mrs. Griffith is survived by a son, Charles Griffith of North Bennington; a daughter, Mrs. David Hoag of Medway, Mass.; a stepson, Thomas Griffith of Rutland; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Guy Townsend of Rutland; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Beland of White Plains, N.Y., Mrs. Arthur White of Hoosick Falls; Mrs. Thomas Byrne of Waltham, Mass.; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held in St. Paul's Church in Manchester Center at 9 am Wednesday. Burial will be in Dellwood Cemetery, Manchester.
Calling hours at the Brewster Funeral Home in Manchester Center are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. There will be prayers at 8 pm.
