MRS. ANN JOHNSTON.

Mrs. Ann Johnston, one of the oldest residents of Ligonier valley, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ella Stapleton, in Ligonier township Wednesday, February 10, 1909, of senile disability, superinduced by acute inflammation of the lungs, aged 94 years, 9 months and 24 days. She was a woman of remarkable activity and acute memory. The funeral services were held at the home of her daughter in Ligonier township last Saturday forenoon, interment in Valley cemetery. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. E.B. McColly, of Latrobe; Mrs. Lattimer, of Wooster, Ohio; Mrs. Felton, of New Alexandria, and Mrs. Ella Stapleton, of Ligonier township. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. During Ligonier sesqui-centennial week Mr. and Mrs. E.A. McColly drove out and brought her in a carriage to town to see the decorations with which she was very much pleased. She could remember distinctly much of the history of this country for the past 85 years.
